Vivaldo Semedo: Watfords Portugal-Angola forward linked with move to Alverca

Vivaldo Semedo, the Portugal-Angola centre-forward currently at Watford, is being linked with a move to Portuguese side Alverca as the summer window gathers pace. The 21-year-old, who was born in Luanda and represents a potential option for both nations, is understood to be on the radar of the Liga Portugal club as they assess attacking reinforcements.

Semedo joined Watford from Udinese last summer on a long-term contract running to June 2030 and is not currently approaching the end of his deal, meaning any departure would require agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer scenario. His valuation stands at around 1.8 million, a figure likely to frame any negotiations.

The left-footed striker featured for Watford in the Championship last season, making 26 appearances and contributing four goals and two assists. That followed a productive loan spell in Portugals second tier with Vizela in 2024-25, where he scored nine times in 25 league matches, experience that has strengthened his profile in the Portuguese market.

Semedos route to England has already included stints in Italy and the Netherlands. After moving from Sportings youth system to Udineses academy, he progressed into the first team and took in a loan spell with FC Volendam in the Eredivisie before his temporary move to Vizela and subsequent switch to Watford.

For now, Semedo remains under contract at Vicarage Road, where he wears the No 18 shirt, with Alverca exploring the possibility of testing Watfords resolve over a player tied down for another four years.
