Ronaldo Van Neel: South African winger linked with Golden Arrows move from Hungry Lions FC
South African right winger Ronaldo Van Neel of Hungry Lions FC is being linked with a move to Betway Premiership side Golden Arrows as the top-flight club explore attacking reinforcements.
Van Neel, who wears the number 7 shirt for Hungry Lions, has emerged as a target for Arrows after a season in which he featured in the Nedbank Cup, making four appearances and clocking 245 minutes in the competition. The interest comes as the Durban-based club assess wide options ahead of the new campaign, with Van Neel viewed primarily in his natural role on the right of the attack.
The winger joined Hungry Lions ahead of the 2023/24 season, arriving on 1 July 2023 from NC Professionals. His performances for the Northern Cape side have kept him on the radar of clubs higher up the South African pyramid, with Arrows now monitoring his situation closely.
Van Neel, a rightfooted specialist on the flank, has come through a domestic pathway that includes spells with Royal AMs reserve team and the youth ranks of Kaizer Chiefs, before stepping into senior football and ultimately landing at Hungry Lions.
There is currently no indication that a fee or terms have been agreed, and Van Neel remains under contract at Hungry Lions. Any move would depend on Arrows formalising their interest and finding an agreement with the Motsepe Foundation Championship club.
