Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha is being linked with a move from Portuguese side Chaves to Brazilian club Ceará SC as speculation mounts over his future in Liga Portugal 2.
The 40-year-old, who plays as the number one for Chaves and is valued at around €50,000 on Transfermarkt, is the subject of interest from the Série B outfit according to the latest transfer listings dated 25 June 2026. The move remains firmly in the rumour category, with the reported probability of the transfer labelled simply as “?”.
Vozinha, born in Mindelo on 3 June 1986 and standing at 1.89m, is in the latter stages of a long professional career and could yet become a free agent, with no contract expiry date publicly listed for his spell at Chaves. His status has heightened talk that Ceará could seek a low-cost, experienced option in goal as they look to strengthen for their Série B campaign.
The Cape Verde international, a right-footed goalkeeper, has been turning out for Chaves in Portugal’s second tier, wearing shirt number 1. In his most recent outing for the club in Liga Portugal 2 – a 1-1 draw against an unnamed opponent earlier this month – he completed the full 90 minutes and was credited with a solid, if unspectacular, performance in a tight match where his handling under pressure was noted.
Vozinha has built a reputation as a reliable last line of defence across his career, featuring in Portuguese football and representing Cape Verde at international level, and now faces the possibility of a first move to South America.
If a deal with Ceará SC does materialise, the switch would offer Vozinha a late-career reinvention in Brazil’s Série B and a final platform to enhance his reputation beyond Europe before he eventually calls time on his playing days.
