Guediawaye FC strengthen attack with Senegal winger Saliou Gueye
Senegal winger Saliou Gueye has joined Guediawaye FC from ASC Jaraaf on a free transfer, adding a 24-year-old right-sided attacker to the Ligue 1 club’s squad. Gueye completed the move on 21 August 2026 and has agreed a contract running until 30 June 2028.
The right-footed forward arrives after two years with ASC Jaraaf, where he played a part in the club’s Senegalese championship success in the 2024-25 season. He moved to Jaraaf from French club AC Arles in July 2024, also on a free transfer.
Gueye’s senior career has included appearances in Senegal’s top flight as well as continental competition. His Ligue 1 record stands at 16 appearances, with two goals and two assists. He has also featured in the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Champions League, giving him experience beyond domestic football.
Born in Guediawaye on 22 December 2001, Gueye returns to his home city to continue his career with Guediawaye FC. He stands 1.83m tall and is listed as a right winger, a role that has defined his senior playing profile.
His arrival keeps him in the same domestic division as his former club and follows a spell at ASC Jaraaf that began with a move from AC Arles. Before his time in France, Gueye had been with AS Douanes, completing a series of moves through clubs in Senegal and France before returning to the country’s Ligue 1.
The transfer gives Guediawaye a player with domestic league experience, continental appearances and a previous national championship medal. Gueye’s contract with the club runs for two seasons, through June 2028.
Saliou Gueye’s move from ASC Jaraaf to Guediawaye FC was completed as a free transfer on 21 August 2026.
