Juventus are being linked with a move for FC Utrecht left-back Souffian El Karouani, whose future in the Eredivisie is uncertain amid talk he could become a free agent.

The 25-year-old defender, valued at €15.00m on Transfermarkt, is rumoured to be on the Turin club’s radar as they assess options at left-back ahead of the next transfer window. The move is currently rated with an unspecified probability (“?”) in the latest transfer listings, underlining that negotiations have not yet advanced beyond initial speculation.

El Karouani, born on 19 October 2000 in Den Bosch, holds both Moroccan and Dutch nationality and is regarded as a modern attacking full-back, operating primarily on the left side of defence and favouring his left foot. He wears the number 16 shirt for Utrecht, who compete in the Dutch Eredivisie.

While full contract details have not been made public, his deal is listed without a confirmed expiry date, which has fuelled suggestions he could run down his terms and explore a move as a free agent, a scenario that would significantly alter any potential transfer fee despite his current €15.00m market valuation.

El Karouani, who represents Utrecht at club level and is recorded with nationalities for both Morocco and the Netherlands, has built his reputation in Dutch domestic football. Recent data from 2026 indicates he remains a regular part of the Utrecht set-up, featuring as a first-choice option at left-back in the Eredivisie.

No official bid from Juventus has been confirmed and there is no indication yet of personal terms or contract length being discussed, but the Serie A side’s interest aligns with their ongoing policy of targeting emerging, versatile defenders from across Europe.

If a move to Turin materialises, it would mark a significant step in El Karouani’s career, offering him the platform of Italian top-flight football and the chance to enhance his reputation on a bigger stage.
