Oscar completes €2m move from Slavia Prague to Al-Taawoun

Liberia midfielder Oscar has completed a €2m transfer from Slavia Prague to Saudi Pro League club Al-Taawoun, ending his spell with the Czech champions.

The 28-year-old central midfielder has moved to Saudi Arabia after more than six years with Slavia, having joined the Prague club from Slovan Liberec in August 2019. He is left-footed and will continue his career in the Saudi top flight.

Oscar leaves Slavia as a four-time Czech champion. He won the league title with the club in 2019-20, 2020-21, 2024-25 and 2025-26, adding Czech Cup medals in 2020-21 and 2022-23.

His final championship with Slavia came in the 2025-26 season, before the move to Al-Taawoun was completed on 21 August 2026. The transfer takes him from the Chance Liga to a club competing in the Saudi Pro League.

Oscar first moved to Slovan Liberec from Lithuanian side Riteriai for €210,000 in January 2019. He had earlier spent time with the club on loan and also played for Trakai, following his move from Liberian side M.Club Breweries in 2016.

Born in Monrovia, Oscar has spent the majority of his European career in the Czech football system. His move to Slavia followed the initial transfer from Slovan Liberec and became the most significant step of his career before his switch to Saudi Arabia.

Oscar’s Al-Taawoun contract runs until 30 June 2028.
