Troyes sign Togo midfielder Dermane Karim from Lommel SK

Togo attacking midfielder Dermane Karim has joined Troyes from Belgian club Lommel SK, signing a contract with the Ligue 1 side until 30 June 2029.

Karim, 22, moves to France after three years with Lommel, where he arrived from Feyenoord Under-21s in July 2023. The midfielder made that switch after beginning his senior European journey with the Dutch club, having previously played for Planete Foot and WAFA Under-19s.

The move gives Troyes a player whose main position is attacking midfield and whose preferred foot is his right. Karim is listed at 1.78 metres and holds only Togolese nationality.

His time at Lommel included two loan spells. He joined Belgian side KV Kortrijk in January 2025 before returning to Lommel at the end of that season, then moved to French club FC Lorient on loan in August 2025. That spell ended on 30 June 2026, when he returned to Lommel.

Karim’s move to Troyes therefore represents a return to France after his season with Lorient, although he did not make a senior appearance for the club during that loan period. He now continues his career in Ligue 1 with Troyes, who completed the transfer on 21 August 2026.

The midfielder’s previous transfer from Feyenoord Under-21s to Lommel was completed for €2.1m in July 2023. His later switches to Kortrijk and Lorient were loan moves, with Karim returning to Lommel after each spell.

Karim has now left Lommel for Troyes, where his contract runs through to the end of June 2029.
