Oufa Shobeir: Egypt and Al Ahly goalkeeper linked with Troyes move in Ligue 1 switch
Egyptian goalkeeper Oufa Shobeir of Al Ahly is being linked with a move to French Ligue 1 side Troyes as the 26-year-old attracts interest following a run as a first-choice starter for club and country.
Shobeir, who is under contract with the Cairo giants until 30 June 2027, is understood to be on Troyes radar as the French club explores options to strengthen its goalkeeping department ahead of the new campaign. Any deal is likely to require a significant offer, with the Al Ahly academy product currently valued at around 1.2 million.
The Giza-born stopper has enjoyed increased exposure this year, starting every match in Egypts 2026 World Cup campaign and playing the full 90 minutes in all five of their games. He has also been trusted in high-stakes fixtures for Al Ahly, starting throughout the recent Championship Playoff, where he kept three clean sheets and conceded five goals in six matches.
At continental level, Shobeir featured prominently in Al Ahlys latest CAF Champions League run, making nine appearances and contributing to four clean sheets as the club added to its extensive honours list. His role at a team that has dominated Egyptian football and lifted multiple league titles and cups in recent seasons is viewed as a key part of his appeal to European suitors.
Shobeir has been with Al Ahlys senior side since stepping up from the clubs youth ranks in 2019, and with a long-term deal in place, the Egyptian champions are in a strong position should Troyes decide to turn their interest into a formal offer.
