Botswana defensive midfielder Gape Edwin Mohutsiwa has joined Moroccan side Ittihad Tanger from MC Oran. The 29-year-old moves to the Botola Pro Inwi club after a spell in Algerian football, where he established himself as a regular in the top flight.

Mohutsiwa, born in Serowe and standing at 1.80m, arrives in Tangier on a contract running until 30 June 2028. The right-footed midfielder has been valued at around 250,000 and will operate primarily in a holding role at the base of midfield for his new side.

He makes the switch after a season with MC Oran, whom he joined in July 2025 following a free transfer from fellow Algerian Ligue 1 club ASO Chlef. During his time in Algeria, Mohutsiwa built up significant experience, featuring 77 times in the league and adding further outings in domestic cup and continental competition.

Mohutsiwas standout achievement so far came with ASO Chlef, where he was part of the squad that lifted the Algerian Cup in the 2022-23 campaign. His performances in that period also brought exposure on the African stage, with appearances in both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Before moving to North Africa, Mohutsiwa played in his homeland for Township Rollers, Jwaneng and Motlakase, progressing from the Botswana game to carve out a career in the regions more competitive leagues. His switch to Ittihad Tanger marks the latest step in that journey and commits him to the Moroccan club for the next two seasons.
