The financial and legal dispute between Zamalek and their former star Ahmed Sayed Zizo, has taken center stage, as both sides exchange claims in front of the Egyptian Football Association.

Zizo, who transferred to Al Ahly this season, is demanding unpaid dues totaling 80 million pounds, while Zamalek argues the sum is exaggerated and counters with accusations of absenteeism and outstanding debts related to advertising.

Former football director Abdel Wahed El-Sayed broke his silence, providing detailed testimonies on Zizo’s contract and alleging that some of the player’s claims were attempts to collect double compensation. “Zizo is trying to get his contract paid twice, which is not legal,” he said in a televised statement, emphasizing that the legitimate outstanding amount is no more than four million pounds.

Zamalek insists all payments have been properly documented and that any claims above the agreed value are unjustified, referencing additional income Zizo received directly from ex-president Mamdouh Abbas.

As the legal proceedings intensify, both parties anticipate a verdict that could have major financial consequences. On the pitch, Zizo remains a pivotal figure at Al Ahly, continuing to display his talent and impact as one of the Egyptian league’s standout wingers.
