Malick Fofana prefers Roma over Inter transfer
Malick Fofana appears ready to leave Olympique Lyonnais for Serie A, with AS Roma currently his preferred destination.
The 21-year-old winger remains on Inter Milan’s radar, but reports indicate that he is more attracted by the project in the Italian capital.
Fofana joined Lyon from Gent two years ago and still has a contract running until June 2028. However, he is considering a summer departure after attracting interest from Roma, Inter, RB Leipzig, Atalanta and Galatasaray.
Roma’s decision could depend on the completion of Rodrigo Mora’s proposed move from Porto. Once that transfer is settled, the Giallorossi are expected to decide whether to make a formal move for Fofana. Inter, meanwhile, reportedly want to sell Luis Henrique before submitting their own offer.
Fabrizio Romano reported: “AS Roma continues discussions for Malick Fofana with Lyon and the player’s entourage. Fofana is eager to join AS Roma, but the club will make its final decision once the agreement for Rodrigo Mora with Porto is completed. Galatasaray have also shown interest in Fofana in recent days.”
A separate report claims Lyon have reached a provisional agreement with Roma for a €5 million loan, including a conditional €30 million purchase obligation and €5 million in bonuses. However, Lyon would prefer to keep Fofana for their Champions League playoff.
