Al-Shabab explore move for Galatasaray’s Gabonese-French midfielder Mario Lemina
Gabonese-French midfielder Mario Lemina is being linked with a move from Galatasaray to Al-Shabab, with the Saudi Pro League club emerging as a potential destination for the 32-year-old defensive midfielder.
Lemina currently plays for Galatasaray in Turkey’s Super Lig, while Al-Shabab are competing in Saudi Arabia’s top flight. The proposed move would therefore take the former international midfielder from Turkish football to the Saudi Pro League, although the available information does not indicate that an agreement has been reached or that the transfer is imminent.
Lemina’s current estimated market value is €4.5m. His Galatasaray contract runs until 30 June 2028, meaning any move would require the Saudi club to negotiate a transfer with the Turkish side rather than wait for the player to become available as a free agent.
The midfielder’s age and experience are central to the context of the reported interest, but no transfer fee, personal terms or probability of the deal have been established. Al-Shabab’s interest remains at the rumour stage.
Lemina’s current contractual position gives Galatasaray control over his immediate future, with three years remaining on his deal as of the reported enquiry.
