Guinea centre-forward Mohamed Saliou Bangoura is being linked with a move from Algerian side MC Algiers to Egyptian giants Al Ahly as the Cairo club assess attacking options ahead of the new Egyptian Premier League campaign.
Bangoura, 22, currently wears the No 18 shirt for MC Algiers in Algeria’s Ligue 1 and is listed with a market value of €1.20m on Transfermarkt, a figure likely to frame any negotiations if talks progress beyond initial interest. The rumour, first logged on 19 June 2026, carries an unspecified probability of completion.
The striker, born on 10 June 2004 and capped at club level in Algeria, operates primarily as a centre-forward in an attacking role. While full contract details have not been disclosed, there is currently no publicly recorded expiry date on his deal with MC Algiers, raising the prospect that he could either run his contract down in future or become a free agent if no extension is agreed.
Bangoura has been a regular part of MC Algiers’ frontline in Ligue 1, featuring in Algeria’s top flight after joining the club from Guinea. In his most recent outing, he was involved in MC Algiers’ league fixture against domestic opposition earlier this month, contributing across the frontline in a tightly contested match, although he did not get on the scoresheet in a narrow result for his side.
Al Ahly, record champions of Egypt and regular participants in the CAF Champions League, have a long history of recruiting emerging African forwards and could view Bangoura as a relatively low-cost option compared with other targets, given his €1.20m valuation and age profile.
If the move does materialise, a switch from MC Algiers to Al Ahly would represent a significant step up in exposure for Bangoura and could shape the next phase of his career, offering a platform to enhance both his reputation in African football and his longer-term potential in the transfer market.
