AC Milan ready to cut ties with Christopher Nkunku after a flat debut season
AC Milan are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for Christopher Nkunku this summer after a disappointing first year at San Siro.
The French forward joined from Chelsea in a €37 million deal, becoming the most expensive signing in Serie A last season and a marquee addition for the Rossoneri.
However, Nkunku has struggled to live up to those expectations. Across all competitions he has registered six goals in 31 appearances, with five coming in Serie A and one in the Coppa Italia, a return club figures view as underwhelming for such a major investment. Reports also suggest coach Massimiliano Allegri had hoped for a more traditional, physically dominant striker profile to lead the line, adding to doubts over Nkunku’s fit in the current project.
According to reports in Italy, Milan have now placed the 28-year-old on the transfer list ahead of the upcoming window. Interest is expected from Saudi Arabian clubs, while Fenerbahce had already shown serious intent in January. As Milan plan an attacking reshuffle, Nkunku’s future looks increasingly uncertain despite having spent only one season in red and black.
