Mohamed El Shibi targets victory after Pyramids complete comeback against Ceramica Cleopatra

Mohamed El Shibi said Pyramids’ priority was securing victory rather than individual recognition after they came from behind to beat Ceramica Cleopatra 4-1 in round six of the Egyptian Premier League.

El Shibi was named Player of the Match as Pyramids recovered from an early setback to maintain their perfect start to the season and return to the top of the table.

“I thank the players and the coaching staff for this victory,” Pyramids player El Shibi told ON Sport. “We deserved more and achieved our objective today by taking the three points.”

The award was welcome, he added, but it was not what had driven him during the match.

“I am happy with the Player of the Match award, but my aim is not the award; it is to win,” he said.

Pyramids demonstrated their resilience after falling behind early, according to El Shibi, who praised the team’s response and ability to change the course of the game.

“We showed our character after going behind early in the match, and we were able to turn the score around and secure the victory,” he said.

Mostafa Zico, Ahmed Nader, Mohanad Lasheen and Youssef Ibrahim “Obama” scored Pyramids’ four goals.

Abdullah Magdy scored the only goal for Ceramica Cleopatra.

The result lifted Pyramids to 18 points at the summit of the Egyptian Premier League, with six wins from six matches.

Ceramica Cleopatra remain on 12 points in fifth place.
