Hossam Abdel Meguid starts as Ludogorets thrash Arda 5-0 in Bulgarian league

Hossam Abdel Meguid started and played the full match as Ludogorets moved to within two points of Bulgarian league leaders Levski Sofia with a 5-0 victory over Arda in round 11.

The Egyptian defender was booked in the 21st minute and made his fourth consecutive start for Ludogorets since joining the club from Zamalek during the summer transfer window.

Caio Vidal opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey doubled the advantage just before half-time.

Tekpetey struck again in the fourth minute of added time at the end of the first half to give Ludogorets a commanding 3-0 lead.

Rwan Cruz added a fourth in the 56th minute, while Ukrainian forward Ivan Jilezko completed the scoring four minutes from full-time.

The result lifted Ludogorets to 26 points from 10 matches, leaving them third in the table. They trail leaders Levski Sofia by two points, while second-placed CSKA Sofia have 27 points from 11 games.

Ludogorets have played one match fewer than both of their closest rivals after their league meeting with Levski Sofia, scheduled before the international break in round 10, was postponed.
