Fekir set for Abha move after UAE stint – reports

French playmaker Nabil Fekir has reached an agreement to join Abha on a free transfer this summer, according to Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat.

The report says the 33-year-old is set to sign a one-year contract with the newly promoted Saudi Pro League side, with an option to extend the deal for a further season.

Fekir has spent the last two campaigns in the UAE Pro League with Al Jazira, leaving the club at the end of his contract this summer.

Productive spell at Al Jazira

Over his two seasons in Abu Dhabi, Fekir made 53 appearances for Al Jazira, scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists in all competitions.

In the 2025-26 campaign alone, he featured in 25 matches, finding the net 10 times and setting up four goals.

During the 2024-25 season, the former France international helped Al Jazira lift the UAE League Cup, known officially as the UAE Pro League Cup (Khalifa Bin Zayed Cup), adding domestic silverware to his time in the Emirates.

Move to newly promoted Abha

Abha have recently secured promotion to the Saudi Pro League and are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the top flight.

Should the deal be completed as reported, Fekir would arrive as one of the club’s most high-profile signings, bringing top-level experience from Europe and the Middle East.

The agreement, as outlined by Asharq Al-Awsat, would see Fekir join Abha without a transfer fee, following the expiry of his contract with Al Jazira.
