Parma are being linked with a move for FC Thun central midfielder Franz-Ethan Meichtry, with the Swiss-Cameroonian youngster reportedly on the radar of the Serie A club.

The 20-year-old, who plays in central midfield and wears number 77 for Thun, is currently valued at €3.00m, according to Transfermarkt, with the Italian side said to be exploring the possibility of a deal. The level of interest remains unclear, with the reported probability of a transfer listed only as “?”, and there is no public confirmation of an agreement between the clubs.

Meichtry’s contractual situation at Thun has also fuelled speculation. His contract expiry date is not listed, raising the prospect that he could become a free agent in the near future or be available for a cut‑price fee if his deal is running down. That uncertainty has added to suggestions Parma could move quickly to secure the midfielder before rival clubs enter the race.

Born on 8 July 2005 and standing at 1.86m, Meichtry has progressed through Thun’s set-up to establish himself in the first team in Switzerland’s top flight, the Super League. A right-footed central midfielder, he has been deployed primarily in the middle of the pitch, with his performances this season for Thun in Switzerland drawing attention beyond the league.

The Thun player, who holds both Swiss and Cameroonian nationality, has been turning out domestically for the Bernese club and is listed with FC Thun rather than a senior national team. Recent appearances in the Super League, including outings in Thun’s spring fixtures, have helped consolidate his growing reputation as a prospect with resale value.

While there has been no confirmation from either club and no indication yet of personal terms, a move to Parma and Serie A would represent a significant step up for Meichtry and could prove pivotal in shaping his development, reputation and long-term potential if the transfer eventually materialises.
