Crystal Palace eye West Ham midfielder Magassa in potential Premier League move
Soungoutou Magassa, a French-Malian defensive midfielder currently with West Ham, is being linked with a move to Crystal Palace.
The 22-year-old joined West Ham from Monaco on 29 August 2025 in a deal worth €17m. He signed a contract with the Championship club until 30 June 2031, meaning any transfer would involve a player tied to West Ham for the long term rather than one approaching the end of his deal.
Magassa has yet to appear for West Ham in the 2026-27 Championship or EFL Cup, with the club having played one match in each competition so far. His lack of first-team involvement this season comes as Palace are linked with a move for the midfielder.
The current speculation would represent a return to the Premier League for West Ham after their move from Monaco last summer. Magassa had progressed through Monaco’s youth system before joining the club’s senior side in July 2022.
His current market value is €17m, the same figure West Ham paid for him in 2025. The midfielder was born in Stains and stands 1.90m tall.
No transfer has been confirmed, and Magassa remains a West Ham player under contract until June 2031.
