Djoliba AC and USM Alger shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Stade 26 Mars in Bamako in the round four fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Malian outfit, who has been in a dismal form hoped for a win on home turf to revive their continental campaign, but USM Alger proved to be a stronger opponent, as both teams settled for a draw in a highly contested encounter on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Both sides showcased glimpses of good performances and created scoring opportunities, but neither could find the breakthrough in a match defined by disciplined defending and cautious attacking.
The game started at a high tempo, with Djoliba AC pressing early and looking to assert control on their home turf. USM Alger, however, remained organized at the back and relied on quick counter-attacks.
Despite several half-chances on both ends, including a long-range effort from USM Alger’s midfielder that narrowly missed the target, the first 45 minutes ended without a goal.
Djoliba AC came out after the break with renewed energy, pushing for a breakthrough. They created a few promising opportunities from set-pieces and crosses, but USM Alger’s goalkeeper was alert and denied them on multiple occasions. The Algerian side had their moments too, including a late shot from outside the box that forced a sharp save.
The 0-0 draw reflects a balanced contest where defensive organization took precedence. Both teams will look to improve their attacking efficiency in upcoming fixtures, but they can take positives from the resilience shown on the pitch.
The Malian outfit has yet to record a win after four matches into the group stage. With one point, Djoliba AC find themselves bottom on the standings.
USM Alger, on the hand, have been impressive, recording 10 points from the initial four games and currently sit top of Group A.
