Owen Atikor joins Al-Qwarah as Nigerian striker signs Saudi move

Nigerian centre-forward Owen Atikor has joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Qwarah from Sohar SC on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old has signed a contract that runs until 30 June 2027, bringing his spell in Oman to an end after less than a year with Sohar.

Atikor moved to Sohar from fellow Omani club Saham Club on 15 January 2026. He previously played for Saham after joining from La Viena FC in September 2025, continuing a career that has included spells in both Egypt and Oman.

His most recent recorded campaign in the Jindal League produced three goals and three assists in 24 appearances. Atikor played 1,972 minutes during the competition, averaging a goal every 657 minutes.

The forward began his senior club career with Depros FC before moving to Sporting Castle in 2020. He then joined Zed FC in January 2022, later returning to La Viena FC after a loan spell. In August 2024, he moved to Al-Qous FC on loan from La Viena, before returning to La Viena at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Atikor, who was born in Port Harcourt, is listed as 1.80m tall and favours his right foot. His arrival gives Al-Qwarah a centre-forward with recent experience of football in the Gulf region, following his time with Sohar and earlier involvement in Oman’s domestic game.

The move was completed on 24 August 2026, with Atikor’s contract at Al-Qwarah set to run through the end of June 2027.
