Taofiq Olomowewe has completed a move from Altona Magic to NPL Victoria rivals Green Gully SC on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs from 11 December 2025 to 11 December 2026.

The 28-year-old centre-back, who holds both English and Nigerian nationality, switches clubs within the same division after less than a year at Altona Magic, strengthening a Green Gully defence looking to add experience and physical presence ahead of the new campaign. The deal follows the expiry of his spell at Altona Magic and involves no transfer fee.

Olomowewe arrives at Green Gully as a recognised central defender, listed primarily as a defender – centre-back and preferring his right foot. Standing at 1.89m and born in London, he brings a long and varied career pathway that stretches from English non-league football to the Australian NPL setup. His move keeps him in NPL Victoria, where both Altona Magic and Green Gully SC compete, rather than returning to clubs in England.

Before joining Altona Magic, Olomowewe spent the early part of 2024 with Box Hill United in Australia, marking his first competitive spell outside England. That switch itself followed a lengthy stint across the English pyramid, where he represented a succession of clubs including Potters Bar Town, Welling United, Ramsgate, Weymouth, Dulwich Hamlet, Braintree Town, Hemel Hempstead Town, Chelmsford City, Hungerford Town, Hendon, Worthing, Enfield Town, Wealdstone and Maldon & Tiptree, after emerging from Burnley’s U21 set-up via the Nike Academy.

His recent career has featured several short-term deals and loans, notably back-and-forth spells between Welling United and Potters Bar Town, and between Weymouth and Dulwich Hamlet. That pattern hints at a defender accustomed to adapting quickly to new systems, managers and dressing rooms – an asset Green Gully will hope to harness in a competitive state league.

While no official market value is attached to Olomowewe in the current data, his availability on a free transfer has again proved decisive. The absence of a fee allows Green Gully to deepen their defensive options without a significant financial outlay, while also giving the player continuity in Australia rather than returning to the uncertainty of free agency that has punctuated his past, including previous spells listed as “without club”.

Olomowewe’s career also reflects the increasingly global pathways for dual-nationality players. Having developed in England and represented a long list of non-league sides, he has now committed his immediate future to Australian football, potentially extending his stay in NPL Victoria with Green Gully. The move offers him stability in a familiar league, while leaving open the possibility of future transfers or a later return to English football once his Green Gully contract expires on 11 December 2026.

How he settles at Green Gully – and whether this latest switch marks a longer-term home after years of movement – will shape the next phase of his career and determine whether the London-born defender can turn his extensive experience into a sustained impact at one club.
