Saliou Sembene: Senegal defender joins Dinamo City after leaving Partizani

Senegal centre-back Saliou Sembene has joined Albanian club Dinamo City as a free agent, adding a 24-year-old defender with extensive Kategoria Superiore experience to their squad.

Sembene has signed a contract with Dinamo City until 30 June 2029. The Sangalkam-born defender moves to the club after leaving FK Partizani, where he spent the majority of his senior career after arriving in 2021.

The right-footed defender made 88 appearances in the Kategoria Superiore for Partizani, scoring twice, and also featured in the Kupa e Shqiperise, Albanian Super Cup and domestic final competitions. In total, he registered 120 senior appearances across the competitions recorded in his career, including five in Uefa Conference League qualifying and two in Champions League qualifying.

Sembene’s time at Partizani included domestic success. He won the Albanian title with the club in the 2022-23 season before helping them claim the Albanian Super Cup in 2023-24.

Standing at 1.90m, Sembene operates primarily at centre-back. His previous competitive record includes 6,726 minutes in the Albanian top flight, as well as nine appearances and one goal in the Kategoria Superiore Under-21 competition.

He left Partizani on 1 July 2026 and subsequently spent time without a club before completing his move to Dinamo City on 15 September. The transfer keeps him in Albania’s top division, with Dinamo City also competing in the Kategoria Superiore.

Sembene’s market value is listed at €250,000, while his highest recorded value has been €300,000. His arrival gives Dinamo City a defender with experience of domestic league competition and European qualifying fixtures.

The move marks the next stage of Sembene’s career in Albania, where he has won both the country’s league title and its Super Cup. He is now contracted to Dinamo City through June 2029.
