Morocco defender Jamal Harkass joins RS Berkane from Damac FC

Morocco centre-back Jamal Harkass has joined RS Berkane from Saudi Arabian club Damac FC, strengthening the Botola Pro Inwi side with an experienced 30-year-old defender.

Harkass completed the move on 15 September 2026 after just over a year with Damac. He joined the Saudi club from Moroccan side Wydad AC in August 2025, in a deal worth €547,000.

The 1.86m right-footed defender made no appearances for Damac in the Saudi First Division League or the King’s Cup during the 2026-27 season before switching clubs. His arrival at RS Berkane brings him back to Morocco after a spell abroad and adds a player whose recent career has been spent at senior level in both Moroccan and Saudi football.

Before moving to Damac, Harkass spent two seasons with Wydad. He arrived there from Raja Casablanca in September 2023 on a free transfer, having previously joined Raja from Mouloudia in August 2021 for €189,000.

Harkass began his senior club career with Mouloudia after progressing from the club’s reserve side. His move to RS Berkane represents the latest stage of a career that has taken him through several of Morocco’s established clubs before his period in the Saudi First Division League.

The defender is valued at €1m and has agreed terms with RS Berkane through to 30 June 2028. His transfer was completed on 15 September 2026.
