Omar Rekik joins Ludogorets from NK Maribor in €300k transfer

Tunisia-Netherlands defender Omar Rekik has joined Bulgarian club Ludogorets from Slovenia’s NK Maribor for €300,000.

The 24-year-old centre-back completed the move on 8 September 2026, switching from the Prva Liga to Bulgaria’s efbet Liga.

Rekik arrives at Ludogorets after his spell with NK Maribor, adding defensive experience and a new nationality profile to the club’s squad. His move represents a change of league and country, with the defender now continuing his career in Bulgaria after playing in Slovenia.

The transfer fee is below Rekik’s listed market value of €500,000, with Ludogorets paying €300,000 to secure his services. No contract length has been given for the move.

Rekik is eligible to represent both Tunisia and the Netherlands, and his arrival gives Ludogorets a centre-back with a dual-national background. The transfer also marks a direct move between two clubs competing in different domestic competitions: Maribor in Slovenia’s Prva Liga and Ludogorets in Bulgaria’s efbet Liga.

Ludogorets have now completed the signing of Rekik, who joins the club from NK Maribor for €300,000.
