Strasbourg push to sign Malian prospect Abdoul Razack Touré

French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg have intensified their pursuit of Malian midfielder Abdoul Razack Touré as the club looks to secure one of the emerging talents in African football ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 17-year-old, known as “Gana”, currently plays for AS Sanga and has attracted growing attention following his impressive performances since joining the club earlier this season.

Strasbourg have now opened discussions with the player’s representatives as they attempt to move ahead of rival clubs in the race for his signature.

Touré is already well known among scouts despite his young age. The midfielder had previously attracted interest from Sporting Club de Bastia during the winter transfer window, with reports at the time highlighting his rapid development and versatility in midfield.

According to the latest developments, Strasbourg have made an initial offer worth €200,000 for the Malian prospect. However, negotiations could prove challenging, as the player’s representatives are reportedly seeking a fee close to €1 million.

Despite the gap between the two valuations, Strasbourg remain keen on the deal and view the teenager as a player with considerable long-term potential.

Touré, who will celebrate his 18th birthday on June 14, has made a strong start to life at AS Sanga after arriving from the Yeleen Olympique academy in Bamako. His performances have quickly established him as one of the club’s standout young players.

Capable of operating in several midfield roles, the Malian youngster has impressed with both his technical quality and tactical flexibility.

In just four matches this season, he has already registered three assists, underlining his creativity and attacking contribution from midfield.

His rise has not gone unnoticed outside Europe either. While Strasbourg are actively pursuing the player, clubs from the Gulf region are also monitoring the situation closely.

Among the teams reportedly interested are UAE Pro League clubs Al Nasr and Al Wahda, both of whom are said to be following the midfielder’s progress.

The growing competition for Touré reflects the increasing reputation he is building at a young age. Strasbourg, however, appear determined to move quickly as they seek to secure an agreement before interest in the player intensifies further during the transfer window.

For now, discussions remain ongoing, with the French club hoping to convince both AS Sanga and the player’s representatives that Ligue 1 would provide the ideal next step in his development.

At just 17 years old, Abdoul Razack Touré is already emerging as one of the most closely watched young midfielders in Mali, and the coming weeks could prove decisive for the next chapter of his career.
