Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana linked with Genclerbirligi move
Ivorian forward David Datro Fofana is being linked with a move from Chelsea to Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi.
The 23-year-old centre-forward returned to Chelsea in June after completing a loan spell with Strasbourg during the 2025-26 season. He has not made an appearance for Chelsea in either the Premier League or EFL Cup during the current campaign.
Fofana joined Chelsea from Norwegian club Molde in January 2023 for a reported €12m. Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, he has spent time away from the club on loan, including spells with Union Berlin, Burnley, Goztepe, Fatih Karagumruk and Strasbourg.
His latest proposed move would take him to the Turkish top flight, although the transfer remains at the rumour stage and no fee or agreement has been stated. Fofana’s market value is listed at €4m.
The striker’s previous permanent club, Molde, was where he won the Norwegian Cup in 2021 and the Norwegian league title in 2022 before moving to England.
Fofana remains under contract at Chelsea until 30 June 2029.
