Portugal-Tunisia centre-forward Youssef Chermiti of Rangers is being linked with a move to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, with the 22-year-old’s future in Glasgow increasingly under scrutiny.
The Eredivisie club are tracking the right-footed striker, whose current market value is listed at €15.00m, as they explore attacking options for next season. The reported probability of a deal remains unclear, with the move currently rated as “?” and no agreement in place.
Chermiti, who wears the No 9 shirt at Ibrox, has dual nationality through Portugal and Tunisia and was born on 24 May 2004 in Santa Maria, Açores. Standing at 1.92m, he operates primarily as a central striker and has been viewed as a long-term project in attack for Rangers.
Details of his contractual situation have not been made public, with no formal expiry date recorded, a factor that has fuelled speculation over whether he could eventually move on as a free agent if no extension is agreed. For now, Rangers retain his registration and there is no suggestion an imminent contract expiry is driving talks.
Chermiti’s latest outing for Rangers came earlier this month, when he featured in a Scottish Premiership fixture against domestic opposition, contributing to a solid attacking display despite Rangers dropping points in a tight encounter. His performance, combining physical presence with link-up play, is understood to have been noted by scouts monitoring his development.
Having already experienced football in Scotland’s top flight with Rangers, a move to PSV would place Chermiti in the Eredivisie, a league renowned for developing forwards. Should the transfer materialise, it could mark a pivotal step in his career trajectory, elevating both his reputation and long-term potential on the European stage.
