Orlando Pirates name side for Carling Knockout clash with Milford FC

Orlando Pirates begin their Carling Knockout title defence against Milford FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday evening.

The Buccaneers arrive after a busy period that included CAF Champions League action on Friday, when they defeated African Stars 3-0 to secure their place in the group stage.

Pirates are the reigning Carling Knockout champions, having beaten Marumo Gallants 1-0 in last season’s final. They have already suffered disappointment in one domestic cup this campaign, losing to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the MT8 final earlier this month.

Milford FC will aim to take their encouraging league form into the competition. The newly promoted side have won four of their opening nine league matches and sit fourth in the table.

The teams have already met once this season. Pirates claimed a 2-0 victory over Milford at the Orlando Amstel Arena, and the visitors will now attempt to overturn that result in the cup.
