Randal Kolo Muani risks Juventus bench spot after difficult run of form

Juventus forward Randal Kolo Muani could be dropped from the starting lineup for Wednesday’s Serie A encounter against Genoa as head coach Luciano Spalletti considers changes to his attacking options.

According to Tuttosport, the forward is at risk of starting on the bench following a series of disappointing performances against Lazio, Rennes and Lecce. Despite his efforts to link up play and trouble opposition defences, Kolo Muani has struggled to make a decisive impact in recent outings.

The 27-year-old was substituted during Juventus’ 1-0 victory over Lecce on Sunday, with Jérémie Boga replacing him as Spalletti looked for a different attacking approach.

Nick Woltemade has emerged as a more convincing option in Juventus’ attack, with the German forward expected to retain his place in the starting lineup against Genoa.

Spalletti’s recent use of a two-striker system was intended to help Kolo Muani perform more effectively, but the Frenchman has yet to consistently demonstrate the improvement the coach was hoping for.

Juventus face a busy run of fixtures, with matches against Napoli, AZ Alkmaar and Fiorentina approaching before the next international break.
