Mohamed Salah: Fenerbahçe linked with move for Liverpool’s Egyptian winger

Liverpool’s Egypt forward Mohamed Salah is being linked with a summer move to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, with speculation heightened by uncertainty over his contract status at Anfield.

The 33-year-old right winger, who has a listed market value of €22.00m, is rumoured to be on the radar of the Istanbul club as they look to bolster their attack for the Süper Lig and Europe. Data from Transfermarkt shows the move was first noted on 12 June 2026, with the probability of a deal currently marked as “?”, underlining that negotiations – if any – are at a very early stage.

Salah’s deal at Liverpool is recorded with no fixed expiry date, fuelling talk that the club could be forced into a decision this summer to avoid the risk of him running down his terms and leaving as a free agent further down the line. Equally, the lack of clear contract information has prompted debate over whether he could become available without a transfer fee if the situation is not clarified.

Born in Nagrig, Basyoun on 15 June 1992, the 1.75m left-footed attacker has been a cornerstone of Liverpool’s attack wearing the No 11 shirt, operating primarily as an attacking right winger. He is officially listed with Egypt as his sole nationality and is one of the most recognisable African forwards of his generation.

The rumour surfaces on the back of another influential campaign for Liverpool, with Salah still heavily involved in goals and assists. In one of his recent outings, he featured in Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 7 April 2024, a 2-2 draw in which he scored from the penalty spot and remained a constant threat cutting in from the right. Performances of that level explain why his value remains significant even in his mid‑thirties.

Fenerbahçe, competing in the Süper Lig and traditionally ambitious in the transfer market, would see a signing of Salah’s profile as transformative both on the pitch and commercially. However, no agreement has been reported and there is no indication yet of a concrete bid from Istanbul or a willingness from Liverpool to sell.

With the probability of the transfer still unclear and his contractual situation opaque, Salah’s future remains one of the more intriguing storylines of the coming window – and a potential switch to Turkey, if it materialises, could mark a new chapter that reshapes the closing years of his illustrious career.
