Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Real Madrid has come under scrutiny, with former Liverpool players calling for the England defender to return to his former club.
Real Madrid signed Alexander-Arnold in the summer of 2025, but he has yet to produce the level of performance expected of him. The defender has also struggled to secure a regular starting place under current manager Jose Mourinho.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, a number of former Liverpool players have urged the club to bring Alexander-Arnold back in recent hours.
The Liverpool Echo then asked supporters whether they would welcome his return to the English club. Almost half of those who took part backed the idea of re-signing him.
A further 24% said they would accept his return only if the transfer fee was low, while just 29% said they had forgiven him for leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid and rejecting the club’s attempts to persuade him to stay.
