Ibrahim Mbaye: Man City eye transfer for PSG’s Franco-Senegalese winger
Ibrahim Mbaye, the Franco-Senegalese right winger currently at Paris Saint-Germain, is being linked with a move to Manchester City as the Premier League champions assess options to strengthen their attack.
The 18-year-old, valued at around €30 million, is under contract at PSG until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal is likely to require a substantial fee. City are monitoring his situation after a breakthrough season in Ligue 1, where he made 33 appearances for the French champions, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
Born in Trappes and developed in PSG’s academy after joining from Versailles as a youngster, Mbaye has progressed rapidly through the club’s youth ranks, moving from the under-17s to the senior squad in a series of mid-season and summer promotions. He was formally integrated into the first team in July 2025 and has since featured across domestic and international competitions, including the Champions League and Club World Cup.
Internationally, Mbaye has represented Senegal at the 2026 World Cup, making four appearances and scoring once at the tournament. His performances on that stage have added to interest in his long-term future, with top European clubs tracking one of the most highly regarded wide players of his age group.
Mbaye has already collected major honours with PSG, including back-to-back Ligue 1 titles and consecutive Champions League triumphs in 2024-25 and 2025-26. With three French U19 championships also on his record, PSG hold a long-term asset tied down for another two years, placing them in a strong position should Manchester City decide to formalise their interest.
