Elias Saad: Tunisia winger joins Nashville on loan from Augsburg
Tunisia and Germany winger Elias Saad has joined Nashville on loan from Bundesliga side Augsburg. The 26-year-old left-sided attacker, who can operate across the front line, moves to Major League Soccer after spending last season split between Augsburg and a spell with Hannover 96.
Saad, born in Hamburg and standing at 1.85m, joins Nashville on a deal running until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to his parent club. The move offers the MLS side a right-footed option cutting in from the left, with Saad taking the number 11 shirt.
The winger arrives in the United States with top-flight and second-tier experience in Germany. He has made 28 Bundesliga appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists, and featured 50 times in the 2. Bundesliga with nine goals and six assists. He also has two goals and two assists in the DFB-Pokal, underlining his impact in cup competitions.
Saad first came to wider prominence at FC St Pauli, whom he joined from Eintracht Norderstedt in January 2023. He helped St Pauli secure promotion to the Bundesliga in 2023-24 and win the German second tier title in the same campaign, earning a move to Augsburg in summer 2025 for a reported €2m fee.
Most recently, Saad was part of Tunisia’s squad at the 2026 World Cup, making two appearances at the tournament. His current contract with Nashville runs through the end of June 2027 as part of his loan from Augsburg.
