Elias Saad: Augsburg and Tunisia winger linked with MLS switch to Nashville SC
Tunisian-German winger Elias Saad of Augsburg is being strongly linked with a move to MLS side Nashville SC, with the deal currently rated as having a 75% chance of going through.
Saad, 26, only joined Augsburg from St. Pauli in July 2025 for €2 million and is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2029, meaning Nashville would almost certainly have to pay a significant fee to prise him away. His current market value stands at €2 million, providing a reference point for any negotiations between the clubs.
The left-sided attacker, who prefers to play on the wing and operates predominantly on his right foot, gained prominence during St. Pauli’s 2023-24 campaign, when he helped the Hamburg club secure promotion to the Bundesliga as second-tier champions. That season elevated his profile within German football and paved the way for his move to Augsburg.
Since stepping up to the top flight, Saad has featured in the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal, adding to a senior career that includes over 50 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga and an impressive goalscoring record in the Regionalliga Nord earlier in his career. Born in Hamburg and representing both Tunisia and Germany at national level, his blend of backgrounds has added to his appeal in different markets.
Saad briefly left Augsburg on loan to Hannover 96 in January 2026 before returning at the end of the season, suggesting his long-term role under Augsburg’s current plans may be open to reconsideration. For now, he remains an Augsburg player tied to a long-term deal, with Nashville’s interest testing the Bundesliga club’s resolve.
