Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu has left Luton Town to join League One side Rotherham United on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Congolese midfielder, who has struggled for game time this campaign, made the switch in the final hours of the winter transfer window.
Once a key figure in Luton’s squad, Mpanzu has seen his role diminish in recent months.
While injury initially kept him out, he has since found himself sidelined due to tactical decisions.
With limited opportunities, he welcomed the chance to move on loan in search of regular minutes.
“Luton Town legend Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu has completed a loan spell at League One side Rotherham United.
Our longest-serving player is heading to South Yorkshire for the remainder of the season,” Luton Town announced.
The 30-year-old midfielder has made just one start in 10 appearances this season, prompting his temporary departure.
A move to Rotherham offers him the opportunity to regain form and make an impact in a new environment.
A Career Spent in England
Mpanzu has spent his entire career in England, beginning at West Ham United before moving to Luton Town in 2013.
Initially joining on loan, he later secured a permanent transfer and went on to become a vital figure for the Hatters.
Over the years, he established himself as a leader in the squad, making a record 409 appearances for the club.
However, strong competition for places this season has seen his involvement decline.
Now, with his loan move to Rotherham, he will look to rediscover his best form and contribute on the pitch once again.
