Germany-Morocco midfielder Zakaria Marjane makes free move to Spanish club Tomares

Germany-Morocco attacking midfielder Zakaria Marjane has joined Spanish club Tomares from Hanauer SC 1960 on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old completed the move on 24 August 2026 and has signed a contract with Tomares running until 30 June 2027. Marjane’s arrival takes him out of the Hessenliga and into a new chapter of his career in Spain.

Marjane played for Hanauer SC 1960 before switching clubs, having joined the German side from Heerenveen U18 in January 2025. His move to Hanauer followed a spell in the Netherlands after he left Frankfurt’s under-17 team in July 2022.

The midfielder was born in Hanau and holds German and Moroccan nationality. He operates primarily in attacking midfield and is right-footed.

Marjane’s transfer comes early in the 2026-27 season. He did not make an appearance for Hanauer SC 1960 in the Hessenliga before leaving the club, with his move to Tomares completed before he featured in the campaign.

His route to Tomares began in the youth system of FSV Frankfurt, where he spent several seasons before moving to Frankfurt’s youth setup in July 2017. He then progressed to Frankfurt Under-17s, followed by a move abroad to Heerenveen Under-18s.

The switch to Tomares is Marjane’s latest club change and his first recorded move to Spain. It also marks a return to senior football after his time in youth setups in Germany and the Netherlands.

Tomares have secured the services of the attacking midfielder without a transfer fee, with Marjane’s contract now in place until the end of June 2027.
