Senegal centre-forward Ibrahima Cissé, who currently plays for Belgian side Jong KAA Gent, is being linked with a move to Premier League club Brighton.
The 18-year-old, valued at around €900k on Transfermarkt, has emerged as a rumoured target for the south-coast side as they continue to scour Europe’s development leagues for young attacking talent. The speculation comes with the probability of a move currently listed as “?” and with no public details on a transfer fee or contract talks.
Cissé, born on 24 September 2007, is a 1.96m centre-forward who operates through the middle of the attack. He represents Jong KAA Gent – the club’s under-21 and B-team structure – in the Challenger Pro League, Belgium’s second tier, and wears the number 75 shirt. His national team listing is also tied to Jong KAA Gent, underlining that he is still at an early stage of his senior career.
There is no recorded expiry date on his current deal with the Belgian club, leaving open the question of whether Brighton would be seeking a standard transfer agreement or positioning themselves to act quickly should he edge towards free-agent status in the future.
Cissé has been building his reputation in Belgium’s development set-up rather than on a major international stage, with Jong KAA Gent his only recorded club at senior level so far. Recent Challenger Pro League outings have seen him continue his adaptation to men’s football, including a latest appearance for Jong KAA Gent against league opposition earlier this spring, where he led the line in a narrow defeat and completed the full 90 minutes without scoring but showcased his aerial presence and link-up play.
If Brighton choose to firm up their interest, a move to the Premier League could represent a significant step in Cissé’s development, offering the tall Senegalese striker a platform to turn raw potential into a higher-profile career.
