Bamba Dieng: Trabzonspor linked with move for Senegal and Lorient striker

Senegal centre-forward Bamba Dieng is being linked with a move from French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient to Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor.

The 26-year-old, who plays as a centre-forward and prefers his right foot, is currently valued at €15.00m, according to Transfermarkt, with reports in Türkiye suggesting Trabzonspor are exploring a deal ahead of the new season. The probability of the transfer remains unclear, with the move rated simply as “?” at this stage.

Dieng, born in Pikine on 23 March 2000, stands at 1.78m and wears the No 12 shirt for Lorient. The Senegalese attacker is registered only with Senegalese nationality and is listed in his main position as an attacking centre-forward.

His contractual situation at Lorient is opaque, with no confirmed expiry date or public indication of an extension, prompting speculation that the French club could be open to a sale rather than risk him running down his deal and potentially leaving as a free agent in a future window.

Playing in Ligue 1 with Lorient, Dieng has been part of a side frequently battling at the lower end of the table in recent seasons. In his most recent appearance, he featured for Lorient in a Ligue 1 fixture earlier this month, though detailed official statistics for that match – including opponent, date, scoreline and individual performance metrics – have not yet been fully published on the data used for this report.

With a market value of €15.00m, Trabzonspor would likely need to structure a significant package to tempt Lorient into negotiations, whether as a permanent transfer now or with an eye on his status should he edge towards free-agent territory.

If completed, a switch to Trabzonspor and the Süper Lig could offer Dieng a fresh platform to reassert his reputation as a leading Senegalese forward and shape the next phase of his career in a new competitive environment.
