Arsenal tracking PSG teenager Emmanuel Mbemba in possible free transfer move

French-DR Congo left-back Emmanuel Mbemba of Paris SG U19 is being linked with a move to Arsenal, with the Premier League club monitoring the 18-year-old defender’s situation as uncertainty grows over his contract in Paris.

Mbemba, born in Melun on 20 March 2008, is listed without a defined contract expiry at PSG’s U19 side, raising the prospect that he could become a free agent if no new deal is agreed. Transfermarkt currently records no official market value for the teenager, a factor that is fuelling speculation that Arsenal could try to move early for a low-cost development signing. The probability of any move remains unclear and is marked only as “?” in current reports.

The left-footer, who stands at 1.79m, operates primarily as a left-back but is categorised generally as a defender. He features for Paris Saint-Germain’s U19s in the Championnat National U19 – Group A and is also listed with dual nationality, representing both France and DR Congo at youth level.

In PSG U19’s most recent National U19 Group A outing before this rumour surfaced – a tight fixture in late May 2026 against domestic rivals in which the Parisians edged a narrow win – Mbemba was used in his customary left-back role, contributing with disciplined positioning and defensive cover down the flank as his side protected their lead in a low-scoring game.

With no senior transfer history and no recorded fee attached to his name, Mbemba would fit the profile of a long-term project rather than an immediate first-team option for Arsenal. Any move, however, is still at the speculation stage and there is no indication yet of formal talks between the clubs.

If a pathway to north London does materialise, the switch from PSG’s academy to Arsenal’s setup could prove a decisive moment in shaping Mbemba’s early career, offering a platform to turn raw potential into a higher-profile reputation on the European stage.
