Ahmed Kasem: Egypt midfielder joins El Nasr after spell without a club
Egyptian defensive midfielder Ahmed Kasem has joined El Nasr, signing a deal with the club after a spell without a team since leaving Enppi SC. The 26-year-old has agreed a contract running until 30 June 2028, committing his long-term future to the Cairo-based side.
Kasem, who was born in Kairo and plays primarily as a holding midfielder, had been unattached since August 2024 following his departure from Enppi. His move to El Nasr marks a return to the Egyptian top flight and offers him a fresh platform to re-establish himself domestically.
The right-footed midfielder previously spent three seasons on the books at Enppi, stepping up from their U21s into the senior side in 2021. During that period he also experienced a loan spell with Harras Hodoud in the 2022-23 campaign, a move that later became permanent for the remainder of that season.
Across league and cup competitions, Kasem has accumulated top-flight experience in Egypt, including Premier League appearances and minutes in both the Egypt Cup and the Egyptian League Cup. His most productive outing in knockout football brought a goal in the Egypt Cup, underlining his ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch from deep midfield.
By signing Kasem on a long-term deal, El Nasr have added a domestically experienced defensive midfielder to their squad ahead of the new campaign.
