Omar Sayed Moawad scores second Al Ahly goal in Egypt Capital Cup

Omar Sayed Moawad opened his account for Al Ahly this season by scoring in their Egypt Capital Cup match against Assiut Petroleum.

The young winger came off the bench in the 64th minute, replacing Sufyan Ben Jedida, before adding Al Ahly’s fifth goal in the 80th minute.

Moawad broke clear of the Assiut Petroleum goalkeeper and finished into the net to complete the move.

Al Ahly were facing Assiut Petroleum at Al Salam Stadium in the opening round of the Egypt Capital Cup.

The goal was Moawad’s second for Al Ahly’s first team. His previous goal came last season, when he scored against Ghazl El Mahalla in the same competition.

Moawad, who came through Al Ahly’s youth system, has extended his contract with the club until 2030. He is the son of former Al Ahly and Egypt player Sayed Moawad.

The winger had been close to joining Spanish club Real Betis before suffering two anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

Al Ahly and Assiut Petroleum are in Group C of the Egypt Capital Cup, alongside El Mokawloon El Arab, Eastern Company, ENPPI and El Gouna.
