Luthando Vena: Stellenbosch FC defender linked with Zulte Waregem move

South Africa centre-back Luthando Vena has been linked with a move from Stellenbosch FC to Belgian club Zulte Waregem.

The 19-year-old has started all seven of Stellenbosch’s Betway Premiership matches in the 2026-27 season, completing 630 minutes. Vena has yet to score or provide an assist, while he has been shown three yellow cards and has not received a second yellow or a red card.

Zulte Waregem compete in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League. A move would represent Vena’s first reported opportunity to leave South Africa since joining Stellenbosch FC on 31 July 2026 from Stellenbosch R.

Vena was born in Kayamandi in the Western Cape and is listed as a centre-back. His current involvement at Stellenbosch has been consistent, with a starting place in every league match since the beginning of the campaign.

The transfer link emerged on 7 October, but the move remains unconfirmed. No transfer fee or probability has been reported, and Vena’s current contract situation has not been disclosed.
