Cape Town City unveil 2026/27 home kit as club marks 10-year anniversary

Cape Town City have unveiled their new home jersey for the 2026/27 season as the club celebrates a decade of existence.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship side presented the kit on Tuesday morning, giving the club a new look as they prepare for another campaign focused on winning promotion to the Betway Premiership.

The Citizens will be led by Dutch coach Andries Ulderink, who will be tasked with helping the Mother City club return to South Africa’s top flight after another near miss last season.

Cape Town City finished second under the leadership of Jan Vreman, narrowly missing out on an automatic return to the Betway Premiership. That result gave them another opportunity to secure promotion through the mini-league PSL/Promotion playoffs.

However, the club were unable to take advantage of that route after finishing last in the playoff mini-league. Milford FC ultimately gained promotion, while Magesi FC also missed out.

The new home jersey was launched against that backdrop, with the club using its 10-year milestone to mark the occasion. Cape Town City described the design as a link between its history and its identity as the club begins a fresh promotion campaign.

“Built on ten years of heritage. Still unmistakably City.

“Introducing our Home Kit for the 2026/27 season.”

The unveiling comes at an important point for the club, with the new season offering Cape Town City another chance to compete for a place in the Betway Premiership. Their previous campaign ended without promotion despite finishing second in the league and progressing to the playoffs.

Ulderink now takes charge of the next attempt, with the club aiming to improve on the outcome under Vreman and avoid another season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Cape Town City’s latest kit therefore serves both as a celebration of the club’s first 10 years and as the visual starting point for their ambitions in 2026/27. The Citizens will be hoping the new campaign brings a different result from last season, when their second-place finish was followed by a last-place finish in the PSL/Promotion playoffs.

The club also highlighted that the iDiski Times Digital Newspaper is available at no cost. Readers were invited to download it using the button provided or complete the form to receive it every week.
