Karim Coulibaly linked with Galatasaray move from Werder Bremen

Germany and Ivory Coast centre-back Karim Coulibaly, currently with Werder Bremen, has been linked with a move to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig.

The 19-year-old defender is under contract with Werder until 30 June 2029, with the Turkish club now credited with an interest in signing him. The rumour does not indicate that an agreement has been reached or that a transfer is imminent.

Coulibaly has made 27 Bundesliga appearances for Werder Bremen and scored once. He joined the club’s senior squad on 16 July 2025 after progressing from Werder’s under-19 side, having previously spent time in Hamburg’s youth system.

The centre-back won the German Under-19 Cup with Werder during the 2024-25 season, before making the step up to Bundesliga football. He is listed as 1.91 metres tall and prefers his left foot.

His market value is listed at €28m, while his long-term contract gives Werder a strong contractual position should Galatasaray pursue the player. Coulibaly was born in Oldenburg and holds German and Ivorian nationality. He also won the Torneio Internacional Algarve with Germany Under-17s in 2024.

For now, Coulibaly remains a Werder Bremen player, with his contract running through the end of June 2029.
