Paris FC close the door on Ilan Kebbal move to Marseille
Paris FC have made it clear that Ilan Kebbal is not for sale this summer despite growing interest from Olympique de Marseille in the Algerian attacking midfielder.
Marseille have been monitoring the 28-year-old closely after his impressive performances for Paris FC, with the club considering him a potential addition to their attacking options.
Discussions have already taken place between Kebbal’s representatives and Marseille sporting director Grégory Lorenzi during the current transfer window.
Kebbal’s performances have made him an attractive option for Marseille. The Algeria international offers creativity and technical quality and is capable of operating behind the striker, making him a profile that could strengthen the French club’s attack.
However, any move currently faces a significant obstacle, with Paris FC determined to retain one of their most important players.
The Parisian club see Kebbal as an important part of their plans as they continue their development in Ligue 1. His importance to the team has prompted the club to take a strong position over his future despite the interest coming from Marseille and elsewhere.
Paris FC sporting director Marco Neppe has directly addressed the situation, insisting that Kebbal will remain at the club.
“Kebbal, Mbow, and Camara will not be leaving this summer. We, like them, want to continue growing and take the next steps together ,” he stated.
The comments underline Paris FC’s determination to resist approaches for Kebbal. Although several European clubs have reportedly shown interest in the midfielder in recent weeks, none have yet succeeded in changing the club’s position.
There could, however, be another development that affects the situation. Paris FC are working on a potential deal for Moroccan midfielder Imran Louza from Watford.
Louza’s possible arrival could alter the competition for places in midfield and potentially influence the club’s plans. For now, though, Paris FC’s message remains clear: Kebbal is part of their plans for the season.
Marseille therefore continue to monitor the situation, but any attempt to sign the Algerian international is likely to prove difficult while Paris FC maintain their current stance.
For Kebbal, the focus remains on continuing his progress with Paris FC, unless the situation changes before the transfer window closes.
