Hope FC secure South Africa midfielder Samkelo Zwane from Kaizer Chiefs
South Africa midfielder Samkelo Zwane has joined Hope FC from Kaizer Chiefs on loan, adding a 24-year-old central midfielder to the club’s squad for the 2026-27 season.
The move was completed on 18 August 2026 and runs until 30 June 2027, when Zwane is scheduled to return to Kaizer Chiefs. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the temporary switch.
Zwane moves to Hope FC after beginning the current campaign with Kaizer Chiefs. He had not made an appearance in the Betway Premiership or MTN8 before completing the loan, with both competitions already under way.
The midfielder spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Siwelele FC before returning to Kaizer Chiefs at the end of June. He made that move to Siwelele in September 2025, having originally been part of the Kaizer Chiefs set-up.
He joined Kaizer Chiefs from Kaizer Chiefs II in January 2023 and has remained under contract with the club since then. His current contract is listed as running until 30 June 2027, matching the scheduled end of his spell at Hope FC.
The move gives Zwane another opportunity for first-team football after his previous temporary spell away from Kaizer Chiefs. Hope FC will become the third senior club he has represented in the transfer history recorded since leaving the Chiefs’ reserve side.
Zwane’s club honours include the Nedbank Cup, which he won with Kaizer Chiefs during the 2024-25 season. His market value is listed at €375,000, while his highest recorded valuation was €450,000 during his loan move to Siwelele FC.
At 24, the central midfielder arrives with experience of South Africa’s domestic game and a contract relationship with one of the country’s established clubs. His immediate task will be to compete for opportunities at Hope FC during the loan period.
The completed move also follows a pattern in Zwane’s recent career, with the player returning to Kaizer Chiefs from Siwelele before departing again on a temporary basis. Unlike that earlier arrangement, his latest loan takes him to Hope FC for the 2026-27 campaign.
Zwane has joined Hope FC from Kaizer Chiefs on loan until 30 June 2027.
