Al-Hazem complete signing of Rwanda midfielder Bonheur Mugisha from Al Masry

Al-Hazem have announced the signing of Rwandan midfielder Bonheur Mugisha from Egyptian club Al Masry.

Mugisha joined Al Masry at the start of the previous season after moving from Tunisian side Stade Tunisien. He spent the campaign with the Egyptian club before completing his switch to Al-Hazem, who compete in the Saudi Pro League.

The midfielder made 32 appearances for Al Masry during his time at the club. He scored one goal and provided one assist.

Mugisha’s career has also included spells with Libyan club Al Ahly SC Tripoli and Tunisian sides Avenir de La Marsa and Stade Tunisien. His move to Al Masry came after his spell with Stade Tunisien, and he subsequently established himself as part of the Egyptian club’s squad.

Al-Hazem are managed by Jalel Kadri, the former Tunisia national team manager, who is familiar with Mugisha’s abilities. The coach’s knowledge of the midfielder’s qualities is a significant feature of the move as Al-Hazem prepare for the new campaign.

The Saudi club finished last season in ninth place in the Saudi Pro League. Al Nassr were crowned champions of the competition.

Al-Hazem’s announcement confirms Mugisha as their latest addition following his season with Al Masry. The 32-match record cited by the Egyptian club includes the midfielder’s contribution of one goal and one assist, while his previous experience covers clubs in Libya, Tunisia and Egypt.

Mugisha began his career in Tunisia with Avenir de La Marsa before joining Stade Tunisien. He later moved to Al Masry, where he played throughout the previous season before agreeing to continue his career in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hazem.

The transfer also reunites the player with Kadri, who previously led Tunisia and now oversees Al-Hazem. The coach will therefore have a clear understanding of the Rwandan midfielder’s strengths as the club seeks to build on its ninth-place finish in the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Hazem’s announcement was made on Sunday, 2 August 2026. The club’s confirmation brings Mugisha’s spell with Al Masry to an end and marks his next move after representing the Egyptian side in 32 matches.
