The Sierra Leone Football Association has announced the immediate termination of the appointment of Mohamed Kallon as head coach of the national men’s team, the Leone Stars.

In a press release dated Thursday, April 2, 2026, the SLFA stated that the decision followed a resolution by its Executive Committee after what it described as a “due deliberation” and a comprehensive assessment of the team’s technical, administrative, and strategic direction.

According to the statement, the committee concluded that a change in leadership was necessary to better serve the long-term interests of both the national team and the development of football in Sierra Leone.

“The appointment of Mr. Mohamed Kallon as Head Coach of the Sierra Leone National Men’s Team, Leone Stars, has been terminated with immediate effect,” the statement read.

The federation confirmed that Kallon ceases to hold any official capacity as head coach with immediate effect, adding that all necessary administrative procedures will follow in line with the decision.

Despite the abrupt nature of the dismissal, the SLFA acknowledged Kallon’s contributions during his tenure, extending appreciation for his service and wishing him well in his future professional endeavours.
