‘We’ll get to bottom it’ – Liam Rosenior pledges answers after starting XI leak ahead of PSG loss

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has launched an internal investigation into a significant security breach after his starting lineup was leaked online hours before their 5-2 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

The breach, which correctly identified the Blues’ tactical setup and personnel choices nearly eight hours before kickoff at the Parc des Princes, has added a layer of off-field controversy to a bruising night for the London club.

The leak gained traction on social media platforms early Wednesday afternoon, accurately predicting Rosenior’s gamble to start goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen over Robert Sánchez.

This intelligence essentially stripped Chelsea of any tactical surprise against the reigning European champions.

While Rosenior was initially focused on the match preparations and remained unaware of the digital firestorm during the afternoon, he was forced to address the lapse during his post-match press conference.

“I wasn’t aware. I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of that if that’s the case,” Rosenior told reporters, signaling his intent to identify the source of the information.

The club’s hierarchy is reportedly concerned about how such sensitive data reached the public domain so far ahead of a high-stakes Round of 16 tie.

Investigations are expected to focus on the club’s training ground protocols and the small circle of staff and players privy to the final team selection.

Despite his firm stance on finding the culprit, Rosenior attempted to downplay the leak’s direct impact on the result, noting that in the modern game, clubs often receive similar intelligence about their opponents.

However, the timing proved unfortunate, as the leaked lineup preceded a defensive collapse where Chelsea conceded three goals in the final twenty minutes.

The focus on the breach comes at a delicate time for Rosenior, whose side must now overturn a three-goal deficit in the return leg at Stamford Bridge on March 17.
